Common Questions
Who is BCN for?
Black professionals and skilled newcomers building careers anywhere in Canada. Whether you're still abroad or already here and months into a search, we work with people who are qualified but not yet visible to Canadian employers.
How is BCN different from a job board?
We don't list jobs. We prepare you for how the Canadian market actually reads a candidate — resume norms, interview expectations, terminology — and connect you to people already working inside Canadian companies who can refer you.
Are you an immigration service?
No. We do not provide immigration, visa, or work permit advice. We focus entirely on employment.
What sectors do you work in?
Our communities are strongest in tech, AML and compliance, customer success, insurance and finance, product marketing, and design. New communities open as our network grows.
Do you guarantee a job or a referral?
No. We make you job-ready and open the door to people who can vouch for the right fit. Referrals depend on fit, and we never promise outcomes we don't control.
How do referrals work at BCN?
Members find a job posting they want and ask in the community whether anyone works at that company. We amplify qualifying posts to our wider network. Referrals come from members who choose to give them — we don't assign or guarantee them.
